The Red Fox - "Small Body Edition"– The Red Fox SBE is a throwback to the first flat-top guitars Gibson made in the 1920s. Delta Blues legend Robert Johnson played a 1928 Gibson Model L-1 and the Red Fox SBE is a real tribute to the tone and feel of that era's guitars. This "New Vintage Series" flat-top acoustic model is all solid wood construction with an Adirondack Red spruce top, mahogany back, sides & neck, rosewood fingerboard and ebony "pyramid" style bridge. Special hand-rubbed 2-color red/dark brown small sunburst and dark red mahogany back & sides. Single ivoroid bound top & back with 3-ply sound hole rings. Bone nut and saddle; matching ivoroid bridge pins & end-pin. "Golden Age: antique nickel tuners from StewMac that replicate the great pre-war Waverly tuners that were used by Gibson on the original L-1. The very lightweight A-braced top gives the small body edition a distinctive bite with a bluesy twang just like Robert Johnson's original recordings.

The Red Fox - Small body Edition comes standard with StewMac “Golden Era” 3-on-a-plate nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons (unless otherwise requested). Ebony peghead with inlaid MOP logo, bone or ebony nut, bone saddle, matching bridge pins & end-pins, 12-53 gauge strings, Pearl FB dots, side position makers. Other options available at customer’s request (additional cost may apply). A $500 deposit is required at start and balance due prior to shipping. Lead time is approx. 6-8 weeks depending on model.
